Directorate General Border Security Force (BSF - Government of India
Ministry of Home Affairs) will hold an All India Examination for direct recruitment
to the post of Sub-Inspector (Works) in BSF Engg Set up for the
year-2014. The post is temporary but likely to become permanent.

Educational Qualification: Diploma in Civil Engineering from an Institute recognized by the Central Government or State Government.
Physical Standards:
(i) Height -> Male - 165 cms (Relaxable by 5 cms for hill tribes and adivasis including Mizos and Nagas); Female - 157 cms
(ii)
Chest (unexpanded) -> Male - 76-81 cms (Relaxable by 02 cms for
candidates below 20 years of age); Female - Not applicable
(iii)
Weight -> Male - Proportionate to height and age as per medical
standards; Female - According to height but not less than 46 Kgs.
Medical Standards:
(i)
Eye Sight - The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of both
the eyes without correction (i.e. without wearing of glasses).
(ii)
Should not have knock knees, Flat Foot, Varicose Veins or squint in
eyes and they should possess high colour vision. The candidates will be
tested for colour vision by Ishahara's test as well as Edrich- Green
Lantern Test. They must be a good mental and bodily health and free from
any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.
Selection Process:
Written Examination (100 questions carrying with 100 marks); Second
Phase of the Examination (Documentation, Physical Standards Test (PST)).
Application Fee:
Demand Draft/Postal Order for Rs. 50/- as examination fee in favour of
the required addressee. The fee is exempted for all Women candidates and
candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, BSF
Candidates, Ex-Servicemen.
How To Apply: Application
duly filled up in the prescribed format may be sent to any one of the
centre addresses nearest to the candidate within 30 days from the date of publication of advertisement in the Employment News (Dated 11/01/2014) and candidates belonging to far flung areas be sent within 45 days from the date of publication of advertisement in the employment news.
